Charlotte, NC – The designated garages for Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and Spirit Square have changed. Hearst Tower and Fifth Third Bank Parking Garages are no longer designated parking locations.

Designated garages are those that accept the $5 event parking passes sold by Blumenthal Performing Arts for parking at events at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and Spirit Square. This rate is available in the designated garages on the weekends and after 5 p.m. weekdays for people attending shows at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center or Spirit Square.

Bank of America Center Parking Garage

Wake Forest University Charlotte Center Parking Garage

Seventh Street Station Parking Garage

Patrons may purchase their $5 event parking pass when they buy tickets or at the theater when they attend a show at Belk Theater, Booth Playhouse or Stage Door Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center or at McGlohon Theater or Duke Energy Theater at Spirit Square.

We are grateful to Bank of America, which continues to help arts groups through this preferred $5 rate.  Bank of America owns the three designated garages and allows Blumenthal to sell parking passes at a special $5 rate and retain the revenue. This generous support by Bank of America ensures plentiful uptown parking for activities at the Blumenthal and an attractive rate for guests.

The recent sale of the Fifth Third Center and Hearst Tower led to the elimination of Hearst Tower and Fifth Third Center garages as designated locations.

This change also restores Blumenthal’s traditional parking choices, which served the needs of guests until construction of the 1 Bank of America Center temporarily reduced parking in the Bank of America Center Garage.  Now that construction is completed, the Bank of America Center Garage is operating a full capacity and the skywalks from the garage to Founders Hall have reopened, providing Center guests with a direct, indoor only access to the theaters at the performing arts center.
